Brief
When I started working at Bagiya, an NGO for underprivileged children, I was initially unsure if I could connect with them while teaching life skills, a new concept for these students. However, after three months, their eagerness to learn and apply these skills erased all my doubts. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of teaching life skills at a young age to foster personal growth and well-being. Using NLP techniques, I help students build confidence, communication skills, and self-esteem, preparing them for success beyond the classroom.
Detailed Background
Sometimes, self-judgment can make you anxious and challenge your confidence. I experienced this recently when I started working at Bagiya, an NGO dedicated to educating children from weaker sections of society. Despite my successful career as an educator, I found myself doubting whether I would be able to connect with the children at Bagiya.
Why was I doubting myself? The reason was that I wasn't teaching a traditional subject; instead, I was working on their life skills—a completely new concept for these students. These were classes where they would work on themselves, polishing their weaknesses and becoming better versions of themselves to excel in life. It was an uncharted territory for both the students and me.
Problem
My initial skepticism stemmed from the uncertainty of how the students would respond. Would they be receptive to learning something so different from their usual curriculum? I knew life skills were essential, but introducing these skills to students who had never encountered them before was a challenge. My concern was whether they would understand the importance of these skills and whether I could convey this effectively.
